Discounts - Market Limiter ("the App") is a Shopify application developed by Seaside Studio ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information the App collects from merchants who install it, how that information is used, and how it is stored.
Information we collect
The App stores only the data needed to provide its features:
- Store information — your Shopify store domain and the basic store details Shopify shares with the App during installation.
- Discount configurations — the discount rules you create in the App, including discount type (product, order, free shipping, BOGO), reward values, minimums, purchase-type filters, and the market scope (enabled-for or disabled-for + selected markets). This data is authored by the merchant and contains no shopper information.
- Product, collection, and market references — read-only product, collection, and market IDs used to evaluate targeting in your discount rules. The App does not store product content, descriptions, or images.
- Session data — short-lived authentication tokens for your Shopify Admin session.
- Billing state — your subscription identifier and status (active, cancelled, pending) so the App can gate paid features and respond to subscription change webhooks.
Information we do not collect
The App does not collect, store, or process:
- Customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, or any other personally identifiable information.
- Order history or transactional data.
- Payment information of any kind.
- Storefront analytics or shopper browsing data.
How we use information
Stored data is used only to operate the App's market-scoped discount functionality, evaluate discounts at checkout, and bill the subscription. We do not sell, rent, or share merchant data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
Data storage and security
App data is stored on Gadget.dev, a SOC 2 compliant managed backend platform. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit over HTTPS.
Data retention and deletion
You may delete individual discount rules from inside the App at any time. When you uninstall the App, Shopify delivers a shop/redact webhook approximately 48 hours later; on receipt of that webhook, the App removes all stored discount rules and configuration for your store.
GDPR compliance
Because the App does not store customer personal data, there is no shopper data to export or redact in response to customers/data_request or customers/redact webhooks. The App nonetheless handles all three Shopify-mandated compliance topics (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). Shop-level data is deleted as described above.

The App relies on the Shopify platform and the Gadget.dev backend service. Data handled by their infrastructure is governed by their respective privacy policies:

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, communicated through the Shopify App listing.
